L-carnitine is one of the most used supplements in weight loss. Does it work? How does it work?
Our bodies naturally make carnitine and it’s a substance that helps the body turn fat into energy. It also has a very long list of other good effects on the body including decreasing risks of heart and kidney disease and even Alzheimer’s.
We also consume carnitine through red meat and dairy in our diets. There is no scientific proof that taking carnitine supplements helps with weight loss but it’s not bad for you in any way to have little extra.
The way I see it is if natural carnitine helps with weight loss and consuming more through supplements isn’t bad for you, I think I’ll take my chances and keep taking my supplements on the chance that they might actually be doing something.
This is the supplement I take, oh so cleverly named “Carnithin”
